If These Walls Could Talk 2

Published by Sarah Lee under Drama, Romance

Searching thru a cinematic database to find the top 5 must see lesbian films can be a fun, yet daunting task. There have been many wonderful lesbian - themed films that have been created; creating a list of the top 5 certainly has not been easy. One of the must see lesbian films that I highly recommend is If These Walls Could Talk 2.

If These Walls Could Talk 2 is based on a set of vignettes throughout the movie. The premise of the movie is that there is one house that has seen the likes of various lesbians and their living situations. In the first segment, two partners, Edith (played by Vanessa Redgrave) and Abbey (Marian Seldes) go about their every day lives in 1961. When Abbey takes a fall off of a

This is a Darkover omnibus containing the novels The World Wreckers and The Planet Savers, as well as the short story The Waterfall.

The Planet Savers was the very first Darkover story and was published originally in 1958. A pandemic sweeps across Darkover every forty-eight years, bringing mild discomfort for the Trailmen but a high mortality rate to the humans.

The Wolves of Kromer

Published by Tallulah Givehead under Drama, Horror

Grrrrowwwll

Does this count as Furry love? (If y’all don’t know what Furry love is all about, Ah’m not gonna tell) “The Wolves of Kromer” is both a fairy tale and a Fairy tale - not to mention furry tail!

This sensuous and wonderful English fantasy of gay werewolves roaming an countryside of old houses, lakes and deep forests is a dark, funny tale of sexy gay werewolves, murderous old ladies and an old English town bent on getting rid of those not like

I Think I Do

Published by Aaron C. Yeagle under Comedy, Romance

Think I Do is a wonderfully wacky and sexy gay screwball comedy from the maker of Pool Days one of the many brilliant short films in Boys Life.

The screwball “who will marry who” antics of The Philadelphia Story are given a gay update in this deliriously romantic comedy. Bob (Alexis Arquette - more fabulous in drag than out!) and Brendan (Christian Maelen) are college roommates whose close friendship (and Bobâ€TMs mad crush) is chilled after Bob is rejected by Brendan. Five years later, they and their college chums all reunite for the marriage of one of their former classmates. Among those in attendance

Zandru’s Forge by Marion Zimmer Bradley and Deborah J. Ross

Published by Cary Renfro under Books, Fantasy, Fiction

Here is Book Two of the Clingfire Trilogy, which began with The Fall of Neskaya. All you really need to know is that it’s a Darkover novel. I read the first book years ago, and didn’t need it to understand the action in this one at all.

This is the story of Carolin Hastur and Varzil Ridenow, who trained to use their laran (psychic) power at the Tower of Arilinn, and became fast friends and allies. Carolin was the heir of the

When Love Comes

Published by Tallulah Givehead under Drama, Romance

L’il ol’ me was just a bit tired of all those French films (not to mention The Quintology of Terror) When Love Comes is a great little film out of New Zealand (Love those accents!) directed by Garth Maxwell who was also responsible for “Jack Be Nimble.” When Love Comes is an intensely interwoven story of a pair of lesbian rockers, drummer Fig (Nancy Brunning) and singer Sally (Sophia Hawthorne), a former pop diva named Katie Keane (Rena Owen), an irresistibly cute but emotionally strung out songwriter, Mark (Dean O’Gorman), and insanely gorgeous Stephen (Simon Prast) as Mark’s frustrated boyfriend and long-time

Eating Out

Published by Aaron C. Yeagle under Comedy, Romance

Eating Out is a screwball comedy harkens back to the days of Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn (who may be turning over in their respective graves with that comparison) as a hunky straight guy pretends he’s gay to get a date with a woman who only likes to hang out with gay men.

Caleb, played by hunky Scott Lunsford, just wants to meet a nice girl now after a bad experience. He goes to a party with his gay best friend and roommate Kyle (the adorable Jim Verraros of “American Idol” fame.) and spies Gwen (Emily Brook Hands) as she throws her latest gay boyfriend out of the

A Touch of Pink

Published by Tallulah Givehead under Comedy, Romance

Another very similarly-themed (Wedding Baquet) movie that Ah enjoyed is the much-more-recent Touch of Pink, Alim (Jimi Mistry) is a South Asian-Canadian gay man living in London with his handsome boyfriend Giles (Kristen Holden-Reid).

All hell breaks loose for the cross-cultural couple when Alim’s traditional mother Nuru (a scenery-chewing Suleka Mathews) announces a visit, setting off a frantic Wedding Banquet-esque series of events, from hiding all gay paraphernalia to having Giles’ sister pose as Alim’s fiance.

Wedding Banquet

In reality, coming out to y’alls family is scary and rife with Drama (Yes. “Drama” with a capital “D!”). In the movies, this event is more often filled with mis-understandings and laughter … especially when the family is completely in the dark. Me? My Momma always knew and Papa simply said nothing … Ah was so ready for nasty drama that it was a total let down! I knew Ah should wore mah best dress!

Ah think mah favorite gay movie of ALL TIME must be The Wedding Banquet - as much for it’s handsome lead actors Winston Chao (ooooooo … Ah have such a thing for Asian boys!) and Mitchell Lichtenstein
